The BRABU VC Relative Advisor Row created a major uproar during the senate meeting at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. Several senate members questioned the appointment of former proctor Prof. Vinay Shankar Rai as NAAC advisor. They asked the vice-chancellor to clarify the rule under which the appointment was made.
Members said Prof. Rai is reportedly related to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai. They alleged that the decision ignored university rules and demanded a written order to justify the appointment. The BRABU VC Relative Advisor Row intensified when the vice-chancellor said the decision followed discussions with Raj Bhavan, but he did not present any official letter.
The senate meeting turned chaotic for nearly 30 minutes. Members also protested against restricting media entry to the session. They said such restrictions reduce transparency and accountability in university decisions.
