Brazil wins ninth Copa America title

QUITO (Ecuador): Six-time World Player of the Year Marta led the Brazilian women’s football team to a ninth Copa America title after a thrilling final between Brazil and Colombia, which ended in a 4-4 draw after extra time on Sunday. Brazil won the shootout to determine the winner, 5-4. In this match, Marta scored two goals (90+6, 105 minutes), Angelina (45+9 minutes), and Amanda Gutiérrez (80 minutes) each for Brazil, while Linda Caicedo (25 minutes), Turciane (69 minutes), Myra Ramírez (88 minutes), and Lysi Santos (115 minutes) scored for Colombia. Marta entered the field in the 82nd minute and gave the team a strong boost with a strong attack. She scored another goal in extra time to take the lead 4-3, but Colombia scored a goal in the end and draw the match.
