A brother and sister found unconscious at Patna Junction on Sunday evening have died during treatment at PMCH. The duo, Dinesh Rai and Goldy Rai, had reportedly consumed poison at Gandhi Maidan before reaching the railway station. Witnesses saw both collapse near Gate No.1, and passengers quickly gathered to help.
People tried sprinkling water on them, but their condition did not improve. Police shifted them to PMCH, where doctors treated them through the night. Despite efforts, both died on Monday.
The siblings were originally from Gopalganj. After losing their parents, they lived with their uncle and aunt. Later, the relatives removed them from the house and property. The two then moved to Kankarbagh and worked small jobs to survive.
Police sources say the brother and sister visited Gandhi Maidan on Sunday and consumed poison there. They then travelled to Patna Junction, where they collapsed due to the toxic substance. Post-mortem reports are awaited. Police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
