BRS Walks Out of Telangana Assembly, Alleges Suppression During Question Hour

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) boycotted the Telangana Assembly’s winter session on Friday, alleging bias and unfair treatment by the ruling government. BRS leaders, led by Harish Rao, claimed that their microphones were deliberately switched off during Question Hour when they attempted to raise issues and question the government on critical matters.
Speaking to the media, Harish Rao accused the ruling party of suppressing opposition voices and undermining democratic procedures in the Assembly. He emphasized that such actions prevent lawmakers from fulfilling their responsibilities to represent public concerns effectively.
The boycott reflects growing tensions between the BRS and the Telangana government, highlighting a lack of cooperation on legislative matters. Party members stated that they would continue to protest perceived irregularities and urged the Speaker and authorities to ensure fair proceedings in future sessions. Observers noted that the incident could impact the functioning of the Assembly if similar disputes persist in upcoming sittings.
