Bulldozer Action in Patna: CPI(ML) Calls for Statewide Protest

People protesting in Patna against bulldozer action during encroachment drive

Bulldozer action in Patna has created strong political reactions across Bihar. The CPI(ML) announced a state-wide protest on December 3, saying that the bulldozer action in Patna is hurting the poor and Dalit families. Party leaders said the government must stop these operations and listen to the concerns of local residents.

CPI(ML) State Secretary Kunal explained that bulldozers are being used in many districts after the elections. He said this step affects poor communities the most. The party plans to hold a large protest in front of the Bihar Assembly, along with sit-ins and rallies across the state.

Meanwhile, the Patna administration has started a big encroachment-removal drive. Nine teams will clear illegal structures in areas like Nutan Rajdhani, Pataliputra, Kankarbagh, Bankipur, Azimabad, and Patna City. Officials said the drive includes the Municipal Corporation, Police, Transport Department, and Zonal Officers.

The government claims this is necessary to keep public spaces clear. However, CPI(ML) says that the action targets vulnerable people, and they are urging citizens to join the December 3 demonstrations.
