Railway Ministry officials said the move reflects the government’s focus on employee welfare. They noted that such payments boost morale and improve service quality. “The PLB is more than just a bonus—it recognises the hard work of our railway staff across the nation,” said an official.
Employee unions have welcomed the decision, saying it will raise morale ahead of the festive season. They pointed out that the bonus demonstrates that the government values workers’ contributions to Indian Railways.
The Cabinet’s approval comes at a time when the Railways is working to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Officials said this bonus will encourage employees to perform at their best. They also noted that the PLB strengthens the commitment of staff toward public service.
