Candidates Reveal Cases, Spending, and Rules

Bihar Elections 2025 candidates disclosure and expenditure rules

In the Bihar Elections 2025, every candidate must disclose criminal cases and election expenditure. Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjyal informed all political parties that transparency is essential. Parties must share FIR details, punishments, and penalties with the public through the media.

The Election Commission fixed the spending limit at ₹40 lakh per candidate. This covers rallies, posters, vehicles, and advertisements. Giving cash, liquor, or gifts to voters is illegal and can lead to imprisonment. Parties must submit star campaigners’ lists within seven days of notification—40 from recognized parties and 20 from others.

A Media Certification and Monitoring Committee will approve political ads for TV, newspapers, and social media. Officials Madhav Kumar Singh, Prashant CH, Amit Pandey, and Ashok Priyadarshi attended the meeting with representatives from RJD, Congress, BJP, JDU, and CPI (ML).
