Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz kept his composure and proved his dominance as Carlos Alcaraz wins US Open 2025 final despite Trump delay. The men’s singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium started over an hour late because of security procedures for US President Donald Trump’s arrival, but Alcaraz stayed sharp and beat Italy’s Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

This victory gave Alcaraz his second US Open crown and sixth Grand Slam title. Trump, who watched from a suite, did not openly back a player, but his reaction to Alcaraz’s triumph showed he had preferred Sinner. Social media quickly spread clips of his dismissive response.

Alcaraz celebrated the win with joy. “It’s a great feeling. I’m working really hard just to lift this trophy. It’s my second one but still a dream come true,” he said. The 22-year-old Spaniard also reclaimed the world No. 1 ranking, ending Sinner’s 27-match winning streak at hard-court Slams.

Sinner admitted he could not match Alcaraz’s level. “I tried my best today. He raised his level when he had to. He played better than me today,” said the Italian.
