A police case has been registered against YSRCP leader and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, for allegedly spreading false information about TTD . According to a complaint by Deputy EO Govinda Raju, Bhumana claimed that disrespect had been shown to a deity’s idol near Alipiri, hurting the sentiments of devotees.
Responding to the case, Bhumana clarified that he never created a controversy over the idol issue. He said he had only pointed out that a mistake was made and criticized the negligence of the TTD administration, which, he alleged, was hurting Hindu sentiments . He further remarked that the idol lying at Alipiri was undoubtedly that of Lord Vishnu, as only Vishnu has the conch and discus.
Bhumana questioned why cases were being filed for raising concerns and vowed to continue his fight to safeguard the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara and TTD traditions.
