Cashless Health Scheme Punjab Launches January 15

Cashless Health Scheme Punjab

Chandigarh, January 2, 2026: Cashless health scheme Punjab will roll out on January 15, offering free treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family. Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh announced that the cashless health scheme Punjab aims to cover every household in the State.

Dr. Balbir Singh said the government will provide universal healthcare cover to all 65 lakh families. Any Punjab resident with an Aadhaar card and voter ID can avail the benefits. The scheme will cover 100% of the State’s population.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will formally launch the programme on January 15. The government plans to hold over 9,000 enrolment camps across Punjab to issue health cards.

Once a family completes enrolment, members can receive free and cashless treatment. The scheme includes nearly 2,200 medical procedures. These procedures range from routine care to major surgeries.

The Health Minister said hospitals will provide paperless services to reduce delays. The scheme will cover hospitalisation, ICU care, diagnostics, medicines, and pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses.

The government expects the initiative to cut out-of-pocket spending in both urban and rural areas. Officials believe the programme will improve access to quality healthcare and reduce financial stress for families.
