CBI Questions TVK Leaders Over Karur Stampede
Leaders of the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Katchi (TVK) were questioned by the CBI in connection with the Karur stampede case. The officials arrived at the CBI camp office in Karur on Monday, accompanied by the party’s Karur West district secretary K.P. Mathiyazhagan and functionary M.C. Pounraj.
The questioning is part of the ongoing investigation into the stampede that occurred during a public event in Karur, which resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. The CBI is probing whether there was any negligence or lapses in crowd management that contributed to the tragedy.
TVK leaders cooperated with the investigation and provided their statements regarding the arrangements and permissions for the event. Authorities confirmed that all parties involved, including organisers and district-level functionaries, are being examined to determine accountability. The probe aims to ensure that responsible individuals are held liable and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
