Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to launch a state-wide *“Swachhata Hi Seva”* campaign from tomorrow until October 2. Addressing district collectors, he emphasized the urgent need to change public habits of dumping waste on roads and in drains.
“Throwing garbage in drains obstructs the flow of water and creates sanitation problems. Even though CC roads exist in rural and urban areas, proper drainage systems are still lacking,” the CM observed. He instructed officials to construct “magic drains” and ensure regular cleaning of villages and towns to maintain hygiene.
Stressing accountability, Chandrababu made it clear that by *January, garbage should not be visible anywhere in the state.* He urged local bodies to strictly monitor waste management and ensure community participation. The drive, he added, should set a model for cleanliness and help improve both urban and rural living conditions across Andhra Pradesh.
