CBSE Makes 75% Attendance Mandatory for Exams

CBSE makes 75% attendance mandatory for exams, linking it to assignments and safety measures in schools nationwide.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a new rule regarding examinations. Students will be permitted to sit for exams only if they maintain a minimum of 75 percent attendance. Officials explained that this condition is directly linked to international assignments that are now mandatory for result evaluation.

According to the board, students with insufficient attendance cannot complete these assignments, which makes the requirement unavoidable. The decision emphasizes regular participation in classes, ensuring that students remain consistent in their studies. Schools have been instructed to strictly enforce the attendance rule across all grades.

Recently, CBSE also issued important safety instructions to schools. It directed all institutions to install CCTV cameras covering entry points, exits, and the entire campus. The board stated that a minimum of 15 days’ footage must be preserved at all times.

Officials clarified that the cameras must record both audio and video. The move aims to enhance student safety and improve monitoring within school premises. With these new measures, CBSE is focusing on both academic discipline and security in educational institutions across the country.
