The Central government has approved a ₹135 crore drinking water project for Rajamahendravaram. The project aims to improve the supply of clean and safe drinking water to the people of the city.
At present, drinking water is being drawn from the Godavari River. However, the water source has been under question for the past few years due to concerns about quality and safety. Officials said the new project will help solve these problems and ensure a steady water supply.
Under the plan, the government will upgrade existing facilities and build new infrastructure to treat and distribute water more effectively. Modern treatment systems will be installed to improve water quality.
Local leaders welcomed the Centre’s decision and said the project will benefit thousands of families. They expressed hope that the work will begin soon and be completed on time, providing safe drinking water to all residents.
