Chandrababu Naidu Proposes Central Agricultural University and Agro-Development Projects in Andhra Pradesh

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has sought the establishment of a Central Agricultural University in Andhra Pradesh to strengthen agricultural education, research, and innovation in the State. In a memorandum submitted to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr. Naidu highlighted the need for advanced institutional support to address challenges faced by farmers and to improve productivity and sustainability.
The Chief Minister also requested approvals for setting up a Coconut Park to promote value addition and exports, a modern Aqua Laboratory to support the aquaculture sector, and a Mango Board to streamline production, processing, and marketing of mangoes. He said these initiatives would help strengthen agricultural value chains and create employment opportunities in rural areas.
Mr. Naidu emphasised that Andhra Pradesh, with its diverse agro-climatic conditions, had immense potential in agriculture and allied sectors. He urged the Centre to extend support to these proposals, stating that they would enhance farmers’ incomes, encourage innovation, and contribute to the overall growth of the rural economy in the State.
