Chandrababu Reviews Urea Supply, Orders Action on Black Market

CM Chandrababu reviews urea supply during teleconference on fertilizer availability

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with senior officials to review the urea supply and availability across the state. Top officials from the Agriculture Department, Vigilance, and Police departments, including the Chief Secretary and DGP, attended the meeting.

Chandrababu ordered strict action against those diverting urea for non-agricultural purposes. He instructed authorities to register cases against black market violators and keep a close watch on private dealers. To reduce dependency, he emphasized strengthening supply through Markfed.

The Chief Minister reassured farmers that the government has already taken preventive measures. Officials reported that 83,000 additional tonnes of urea have been stocked for this Kharif season compared to last year. Vigilance teams are monitoring at the district level to prevent shortages.

The Agriculture Department also assured that farmers need not panic as sufficient urea is available. Chandrababu stressed that ensuring timely supply is a top priority and warned that anyone involved in black-market operations will face strict punishment.
