Checo and Valtteri Set to Drive for Cadillac in F1 2026 Debut

Cadillac F1 2026 driver lineup

Checo Pérez and Valtteri Bottas are set to lead Cadillac’s F1 2026 debut

Cadillac is preparing for its highly anticipated Formula 1 debut in 2026, and the American manufacturer looks set to secure two of the sport’s most experienced drivers—Sergio “Checo” Pérez and Valtteri Bottas. Reports suggest both drivers are close to finalizing multi-year deals, with an official announcement expected around the Dutch Grand Prix.

Pérez, who left Red Bull at the end of 2024, has been widely linked with Cadillac and is reportedly already signed. Bottas, currently serving as Mercedes’ reserve driver in 2025, is also nearing a return to the grid. Together, the duo brings a combined 16 race victories and over 500 race starts, offering Cadillac a wealth of experience as it tackles the challenges of its maiden season.

While younger talents such as Mick Schumacher, Paul Aron, and Felipe Drugovich were considered, Cadillac appears to have opted for stability and proven performance. Sources note that the team even fended off late interest from Alpine to secure both veterans.

By choosing Pérez and Bottas, Cadillac is making a statement: it values reliability and leadership over experimentation. If confirmed, this pairing could give the new team a strong foundation as it enters Formula 1’s next era.
