Rajkot witnessed a tragic incident as Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law, Jeet Pabari (28), committed suicide at his residence on Wednesday. Family members found him hanging in his room when the door remained locked for a long time. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police sources confirmed that Jeet had been battling depression for an extended period. No suicide note has been recovered so far. The incident comes a year after his former fiancée had filed a rape case against him, adding immense emotional pressure.

Jeet Pabari, the only brother of Pooja Pujara, Cheteshwar’s wife, had faced allegations of forcibly engaging in physical relations and making videos of the act. His former fiancée alleged that he had threatened to release the videos if she disclosed the incident.

The engagement took place on January 27, 2022, but the relationship ended following the allegations. The family, originally from Jamjodhpur, has been residing in Rajkot for the past two decades. Authorities continue to investigate the case to confirm all circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.

The tragedy highlights the need for mental health awareness and timely intervention for individuals under emotional or legal stress.
