The Chhattisgarh government has announced a major decision to enhance financial support for the families of soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation. Ex-gratia assistance has been increased from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh for the kin of martyrs.

The decision was finalized during a meeting of the State Sainik Board held at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presided over the session, and official orders were later issued. The meeting highlighted the importance of welfare programs for war widows, ex-servicemen, and their dependents.

Government officials explained that the enhanced financial aid aims to recognize the supreme sacrifice of soldiers from Chhattisgarh. The scheme is expected to reduce the economic burden on bereaved families and ensure better social security. Alongside this, discussions were also held on strengthening ongoing welfare schemes for veterans.

The initiative has been widely welcomed. Across the country, praise is being directed toward Chhattisgarh for honoring its soldiers with dignity. By significantly increasing financial assistance, the government has set an example for other states to follow.
