Chhotu Lal Mahto’s 20-Year Struggle for Victory

Bihar elections, Chhotu Lal Mahto campaigning, Kishanganj candidate

In the Bihar elections, Chhotu Lal Mahto stands out as a determined candidate who has been contesting for over 20 years. A small gas cylinder vendor from Kishanganj district, he once again steps into the Bihar elections with hope and courage. Despite never winning, his dedication and belief in democracy keep him motivated.

Chhotu Lal Mahto first tried to contest in 2000, but his nomination was rejected due to age limits. Undeterred, he kept fighting, even entering municipal and Assembly polls. He has challenged big names like Taslimuddin and Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, but victory has always eluded him.

Living in a modest house, Mahto earns his living delivering gas cylinders. His wife supports him by selling goats, chickens, and eggs. With every election, he says his dream of becoming an MLA or MP grows stronger. “People support me and even donate to help me campaign,” he says with confidence.

This year, Chhotu Lal Mahto believes the public will finally recognize his effort and elect him. His story reflects hope, perseverance, and faith in democracy.
