A chicken pox outbreak in Patna has created panic in a village after dozens of residents fell ill within a week. Health officials quickly reached the area to control the spread of the infection.
The chicken pox outbreak in Patna has affected around 50 people from nearly 30 families in Gopalpur village of Naubatpur block. Most of the patients are children, which has increased concern among villagers and local health authorities.
Residents said several patients visited the Naubatpur referral hospital for treatment. Some villagers claimed that proper medical support was not available at first. One resident said six members of his family, including four children, have been infected with the virus.
After the cases came to light, the district health department sent medical teams to the village. Doctors conducted health check-ups and distributed medicines such as paracetamol, zinc, and ORS.
Health officials also started an awareness campaign and advised people to maintain hygiene, avoid close contact with infected patients, and seek medical help if symptoms appear.
