China Leads Global Robot Workforce with Over 2 Million Units
China now has more robots in operation than the rest of the world combined. In 2024 alone, it installed nearly 300,000 industrial robots, pushing its total to over 2 million. This surpasses all other countries, with the U.S. adding just 34,000 in comparison. Nearly 60% of these were domestically manufactured, reflecting China’s growing self-reliance in automation. The surge is part of Beijing’s push to dominate high-tech sectors like robotics and AI. China’s aggressive expansion in automation is reshaping global manufacturing, reducing labor dependence and boosting production efficiency.
