Union minister Chirag Paswan fields both Sanjays in key roles for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam. The decision aims to strengthen the presence of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) beyond Bihar.
Under this move, Bihar minister Sanjay Paswan will oversee party activities in West Bengal, while Sanjay Kumar Singh has been appointed co-in-charge for Assam. Party leaders say Chirag Paswan fields both Sanjays to expand the party’s organisation and improve coordination ahead of the elections.
Both leaders will work closely with election in-charge Rajesh Verma, the MP from Khagaria. They will organise meetings, political campaigns and outreach programmes in the two states.
The party is planning to contest a few seats in West Bengal and Assam. However, a final decision on seat-sharing with allies in the NDA has not been officially announced yet.
Political observers say the move shows Paswan’s strategy to expand his party before the 2026 elections and build a wider national presence.
