Chitrakoot Challenge Cup: DM XI Defeats Nagarik XI by Eight Wickets

Chitrakoot hosted a spirited cricket contest on Sunday during the inter-state tournament held in memory of Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh. In the goodwill match, District Magistrate XI defeated Nagarik XI by eight wickets, showcasing strong all-round performance. DM Pulkit Garg scored 27 runs and took one wicket, earning the Man of the Match award.

The match took place at the city stadium, jointly organised by Deendayal Research Institute and Chitrakoot Sports Club, Karwi. District Cooperative Bank chairman Pankaj Agrawal and ADM Finance and Revenue Umesh Chandra Nigam met the players before the match and inaugurated the game.

Nagarik XI batted first after losing the toss and posted 98 runs in 16 overs. Atul Agrawal scored 19 runs, while Swapnil Agrawal added 15. Abhay Srivastava and Rohit Gupta contributed 12 each. For DM XI, Bali, Dr. Vivek and Swapnil took two wickets each.

DM XI chased the target confidently and reached it in 10.3 overs with only two wickets down. Ram Babu Gupta, national hockey coach Dr. Prem Shankar Shukla and national volleyball referee Dr. Tushar Kant Shastri awarded medals and trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.

Pulkit Garg won Best Batsman, Nagarik XI’s Swapnil claimed Best Bowler, MLA Anil Pradhan earned Best Fielder and Amit Agrawal was named Best Keeper.
