CID Cracks International Cyber Fraud Ring, Arrests 14 Across States

The Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has busted an international cybercrime racket and arrested 14 persons following coordinated raids across several States. The operation exposed an organised network involved in cyber fraud using illegal telecom infrastructure to route and mask international calls.
According to the police, CID teams confiscated a large quantity of equipment used for cybercrime operations, including 14 SIM boxes, 1,496 SIM cards, eight routers, seven cameras, 22 mobile phones, and other electronic gadgets. Investigators said the accused were operating SIM boxes to bypass telecom regulations and facilitate online scams targeting victims in India and abroad.
The raids were conducted simultaneously at multiple locations after months of technical surveillance and intelligence gathering. Officials stated that the seized devices were used to support activities such as phishing, impersonation, and financial fraud.
The CID said further investigation is underway to identify the masterminds behind the racket, trace financial transactions, and determine possible international links. Authorities have warned citizens to remain alert against cyber frauds and report suspicious calls or messages immediately.
