CM Chandrababu Naidu Requests Nirmala Sitharaman for Higher Central Support
CM Chandrababu Naidu requests Nirmala Sitharaman for increased financial assistance under key Central schemes to support Andhra Pradesh’s development needs. The Chief Minister met the Union Finance Minister and presented detailed proposals.
Naidu sought enhanced funding under the Purvodaya initiative and the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. He specifically requested an allocation of ₹10,054 crore under SASCI for the financial year 2025–26. He said the funds are essential to strengthen infrastructure and revive stalled projects.
The Chief Minister explained that Andhra Pradesh faces unique challenges after the State’s bifurcation. He stressed the need for continued Central support to build roads, irrigation systems, and urban infrastructure. According to him, timely financial assistance would help accelerate economic growth and create employment.
Naidu also highlighted ongoing welfare and development programmes. He said adequate funding would ensure smooth implementation without burdening the State’s finances. The proposals focused on capital works, public services, and long-term sustainability.
Finance Ministry officials listened to the requests and noted the submissions, sources said. Further discussions are expected during the budget review process.
