CM Naidu Encourages SHG Women to Become Entrepreneurs, Promote Local Handicrafts
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged Self-Help Group (SHG) women to step into entrepreneurship, emphasizing that the future of the State lies in women’s empowerment. Speaking at a function in Guntur, the CM highlighted the importance of branding traditional handicrafts and local food products to enhance marketability and increase income for SHG members.
He stressed that women entrepreneurs could play a pivotal role in promoting Andhra Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage while contributing to economic growth. Naidu encouraged SHG women to adopt modern business practices, focus on quality, and explore online and export markets to expand their reach.
Officials said the government plans to provide training, financial support, and marketing assistance to help SHG women establish sustainable enterprises. The initiative aims to create employment opportunities, uplift rural communities, and ensure that women become key drivers of the State’s socio-economic development.
