Hyderabad: Tension has gripped the Telangana Congress ahead of today’s High Court hearing on petitions seeking the cancellation of BC reservations in local body elections. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a key meeting with legal experts and senior party leaders to review the case strategy.

During the discussion, Revanth requested senior Congress leader and renowned Supreme Court lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi to present arguments on behalf of the government in the High Court. The Chief Minister also directed all BC ministers to remain at the court premises and closely monitor the proceedings and developments.

The case carries significant political importance, as the outcome could impact the representation of Backward Classes in local governance. The Congress government aims to defend the existing reservation policy, reaffirming its commitment to protecting BC rights and ensuring fair political participation at the grassroots level.
