CMR Grain Scam Unearthed in Telangana

Vigilance finds ₹9.34 crore CMR grain scam in Telangana during inspections, DG Shikha Goel reveals major irregularities.

Major irregularities have surfaced in the CMR grain supply system across Telangana. Vigilance and Enforcement teams exposed a large-scale scam worth crores of rupees.

According to Vigilance DG Shikha Goel, inspections in the Warangal Unit revealed irregularities involving ₹9.34 crore in the handling of CMR grain. The raids were conducted jointly by civil supplies and vigilance officials at Srisailam Mallanna Industries in Kamalapur Mandal of Hanamkonda district.

Officials found a shortage of 40,000 quintals of grain, valued at around ₹9.34 crore. A case has been registered, and recommendations were made to district civil supplies authorities for further action.

In Nalgonda Unit, vigilance teams booked 13 vehicles for route violations and imposed fines of ₹3 lakh. In Karimnagar Unit, 30 quintals of PDS rice worth ₹70,000 were seized, and a case was filed. DG Shikha Goel stated that surprise checks would continue across the state to curb such illegal practices.
