Jagtial: Heavy rains have lashed several parts of Jagtial district, prompting district officials to stay on high alert. Collector B. Satya Prasad directed all departments to respond immediately to any public difficulties and ensure that relief measures are carried out without delay.
On Thursday, the Collector, along with Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar, inspected low-lying and flood-prone areas near the Godavari river in Dharmapuri. They visited Rayapatnam bridge, Nerella low-level bridge, Anantharam bridge in Jagtial mandal, and several other locations in Raikal mandal, including Ramojipet, Maithapur, and Itikyala bridges.
During the visit, Satya Prasad instructed officials to closely monitor rainfall impact and water flow conditions. He asked them to take preventive measures to avoid mishaps. The Collector also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and avoid crossing streams and bridges during heavy floods. He assured that the district administration would stand by the people at all times.
The Collector emphasized that officials must discharge duties with care and avoid negligence. He reiterated that public safety is the top priority. RDO Madhusudan, local tahsildars, MPDOs, and other officials accompanied the Collector during the inspection.
