Collector Urges Nandyal People to Stay Alert for Cyclone Montha

Collector alerts Nandyal people as Cyclone Montha may cause heavy rain and crop damage across the region.

NANDYAL: District Collector G. Rajakumari urged residents to stay alert as Cyclone Montha may bring heavy rain for three days. At a review meeting with officials, she asked departments to stay prepared and protect lives and property. Joint Collector K. Karthik, DRO Ramu Naik, and other officers attended the meeting.

The Collector advised farmers to delay harvesting onion, maize, and tomato crops to avoid losses. She said 30% of maize was already harvested and warned that wet conditions could lower prices. She told traders to follow government prices and directed agriculture officers to guide farmers on crop safety.

Rajakumari expressed concern over poor sanitation in Atmakur town. She ordered municipal officials to clean waste quickly and ensure clean drinking water through chlorination. She asked teams to shift people from weak houses and keep sandbags ready to prevent floods.

The Collector also announced Aadhaar update camps across the district. She told farmers to complete e-Crop registration for compensation and students to get Apar ID cards for education and welfare benefits.
