Congress Claims 5 Lakh Duplicate Voters in Bihar Final Rolls
The Congress party has alleged the presence of around five lakh duplicate voters in the final electoral rolls of Bihar, raising concerns over the integrity of the upcoming elections. The party’s EAGLE committee, established in February, has been assigned to monitor the election process and oversee the functioning of the state’s election commission.
According to Congress, the duplicate entries could significantly impact the fairness of the electoral process. The EAGLE committee has urged the poll panel to take immediate action to identify and remove such duplicates to ensure transparent and credible elections.
The Bihar elections are critical, and Congress has been actively involved in scrutinizing voter lists and election conduct to prevent any malpractice. The party’s allegations add pressure on the state election authorities to address these discrepancies promptly and uphold democratic standards ahead of the polls.
