A political storm has broken out over the Allavaru row in Bihar Congress. Several party leaders are angry over ticket denials and have accused state in-charge Krishna Allavaru of corruption and misuse of power. They allege he distributed tickets for money, ignoring loyal workers. Former MLA Gajanand Shahi, who narrowly lost the 2020 elections, also protested being denied a ticket. The disgruntled leaders, including Anand Madhav, have planned a protest and fast at the Congress office in Patna.
The group also blamed Allavaru and state president Rajesh Ram for misleading party high command and weakening Rahul Gandhi’s position. They submitted their resignations to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, demanding Allavaru’s removal. The Allavaru row in Bihar Congress has now deepened the internal crisis ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
