Congress Leadership Standoff Likely to Be Settled in Delhi Talks
The Congress high command is expected to settle the ongoing leadership and power-sharing debate in Karnataka during a crucial meeting scheduled for Saturday. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge stated that both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will be called to Delhi for discussions aimed at resolving the differences that have resurfaced within the State unit.
The dispute, largely centred on power-sharing expectations and governance priorities, has caused internal unease even as the government completes a significant period in office. Senior leaders believe that direct intervention from the central leadership will help ease tensions and reaffirm unity within the party.
Kharge expressed confidence that a mutually agreeable formula would emerge from the meeting, emphasising that the focus must remain on delivering the government’s promises to the people of Karnataka. The outcome of Saturday’s deliberations is expected to shape the State’s political direction in the coming months.
