Congress Opposes ₹10,000 Transfer to Women’s Accounts

Bihar Elections ₹10,000 transfer issue, Congress protest, Patna press meet

The Congress Party strongly opposed the Bihar Elections ₹10,000 transfer to women’s accounts. During a press meet in Patna, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the move. He said that sending money on voting day violated election rules. Gehlot asked the Election Commission to take action.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar started the scheme under the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Program. His government sent ₹10,000 each to 12.1 million women. Another 15.1 million will get the same benefit by December. Congress claims this transfer during the Bihar Elections ₹10,000 transfer campaign breaks the Model Code of Conduct.

Gehlot urged voters to give the Grand Alliance a chance. He said a young leader like Tejashwi Yadav could bring new hope to Bihar. Gehlot also predicted that BJP-JDU ties would weaken after the polls. He called the current rule “dictatorial” and said Nitish Kumar looked helpless.

The issue has added fuel to Bihar’s heated election debate.
