Congress Protests Against BJP Over National Herald Case

The Congress party staged a protest on Wednesday against the BJP, demanding accountability in the National Herald case. Party leaders and workers gathered at key locations in several cities, raising slogans and carrying banners to highlight what they called the “political misuse of power” in the ongoing legal proceedings.
Congress leaders accused the ruling party of targeting the opposition through selective investigations and alleged that the case was being politicised to tarnish the image of senior leaders. The protesters urged the government to ensure transparency and fairness in the legal process.
Senior Congress officials addressed the gathering, emphasising the need to protect democratic institutions and uphold the rule of law. They also called for judicial intervention to ensure impartiality in the investigation. Party spokespersons warned that the protests would continue until there was clarity and justice in the matter, asserting that public opinion was crucial in upholding democratic values.
The demonstration remained largely peaceful, with local police monitoring the situation closely.
