India’s newly elected Vice President, CP Radhakrishnan, received warm wishes from his rival candidate Justice Sudarshan Reddy of the INDIA bloc. Justice Reddy issued a statement on Wednesday congratulating Radhakrishnan on his decisive victory.
The Vice President elections concluded on Tuesday at the Parliament complex. CP Radhakrishnan secured a massive win over Justice Sudarshan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes. Out of 771 eligible MPs, 767 exercised their voting rights, reflecting high participation.
Radhakrishnan, 67, was widely congratulated after the results were announced by returning officer P.C. Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several national leaders, hailed his victory. The ruling alliance celebrated the outcome, calling it a strong mandate for Radhakrishnan.
In his remarks, Radhakrishnan expressed gratitude to the President, Prime Minister, and all leaders who extended their wishes. He said he would work with dedication to uphold the dignity of the Vice President’s office and strengthen democratic values.
