A crack in metro pillar after Ameerpet fire has sparked concern among commuters and officials in Hyderabad. The incident occurred near the busy Ameerpet area, where a major fire broke out in a building located close to a metro pillar. The crack in metro pillar after Ameerpet fire was noticed following the intense heat generated by the blaze.
Officials identified visible damage on Metro Pillar No. 1043, which stands close to the fire-hit building. The extreme heat from the flames may have affected the concrete structure, prompting an immediate inspection.
A team of experts from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad has started a detailed assessment of the pillar. They are using specialized equipment to examine its load-bearing capacity and determine whether the heat caused any internal structural damage.
Metro authorities said they will decide on repairs and future operations after reviewing the technical report. Safety measures will remain in place until the inspection is complete.
