CRDA Sanctions ₹2,015 Crore Development Projects for Amaravati

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has cleared projects worth ₹2,015 crore for the development of Amaravati at its 56th meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Monday. The sanctioned projects include development of LPS-8 layouts, construction of a major flood pumping station, quarters for All India Services officers, and establishment of a Quantum Computing Research Centre.
Officials said the approvals were aimed at accelerating infrastructure creation and strengthening Amaravati as the State capital. The flood pumping station is expected to address long-standing concerns over waterlogging in low-lying areas, while the officers’ quarters will support administrative functioning.
The meeting also decided to constitute a high-level committee to examine issues related to jareebu (fertile or irrigated) and metta (dry) lands contributed by farmers under the land pooling scheme. The panel will study concerns raised by farmers and submit recommendations to ensure fairness and transparency in development and compensation measures.
