Jaipur is all set to witness high-profile domestic cricket action as several Indian and international-level cricketers have arrived in the city ahead of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Group C matches of the prestigious domestic one-day tournament will be played at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium from December 24 to January 8. On Tuesday, December 23, star players including Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Sharma landed in Jaipur and received a warm welcome at the airport.
Veteran batter Rohit Sharma is expected to play the opening two matches of the tournament. Apart from him, prominent international cricketers such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Shardul Thakur, and Sarfaraz Khan will also be seen in action on Jaipur’s pitches. Adding further excitement, Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar will represent Goa in the competition.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy Group C consists of eight teams: Mumbai, Maharashtra, Punjab, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand. Punjab will feature Shubman Gill along with Arshdeep Singh and Abhishek Sharma, while Maharashtra will rely on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Prithvi Shaw. Young talents like Shashank Singh from Chhattisgarh will also look to make an impact.
With several star names participating, cricket fans in Jaipur can expect thrilling matches and strong competition throughout the tournament.
