Crime Rate in Andhra Pradesh Drops by 5.5% in 2025
Crime in Andhra Pradesh recorded a notable decline of 5.5% in 2025, reflecting improved law enforcement and preventive measures across the State. According to official data, crimes against women also showed a downward trend during the year. Serious offences such as rape and murder, along with assault cases, registered a reduction, offering some relief amid longstanding concerns over women’s safety.
Police officials attributed the decline to intensified patrolling, faster response systems, wider use of technology, and focused awareness programmes. Community policing initiatives and stricter monitoring of repeat offenders were also said to have contributed to the improvement.
However, the overall positive trend was partly offset by a rise in economic offences. Cases related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and other financial crimes increased, highlighting emerging challenges linked to digital transactions and financial frauds.
Authorities have stated that special teams and cybercrime units are being strengthened to address these offences, while sustaining efforts to further reduce conventional crimes across the State.
