Cyber Crime Police Alert Public About Online Scams During Festive Season
Hyderabad’s cyber crime police have issued a warning to the public about a rise in online frauds during the festive season. They stated that cyber criminals are adopting newer and more deceptive methods to target unsuspecting people.
With festivals approaching, many individuals are shopping online, booking travel tickets, and registering for events, which increases their exposure to potential scams. Cyber police advised people to be cautious while sharing personal or financial information online and to verify the authenticity of websites and sellers before making payments.
Authorities also highlighted common fraud methods, including fake shopping sites, phishing emails, fraudulent payment requests, and impersonation of banks or e-commerce platforms. They urged users to enable two-factor authentication, use secure networks, and report suspicious activity immediately.
The cyber crime department emphasized that staying vigilant and adopting safe online practices is the best way to prevent financial loss and protect personal data during festive seasons.
