Cyclone Montha Disrupts Air Travel; 35 Flights Cancelled at Hyderabad Airport
Operations at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport were severely disrupted on October 28, 2025, as Cyclone Montha brought heavy rain and strong winds across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Airport authorities confirmed the cancellation of 35 flights, including both domestic and international services, due to adverse weather conditions.

Several incoming flights were diverted to Bengaluru and Chennai, while outgoing services were delayed amid safety concerns. Passengers faced long queues and extended waiting hours as airlines adjusted schedules in response to the evolving situation.

Airport officials stated that contingency measures were in place, with continuous coordination between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and meteorological departments. Passengers were advised to check flight statuses before arriving at the airport.

The weather office warned that conditions may remain unstable for the next 24 hours, urging caution for air and road travelers across the affected regions.
