The Darbhanga jewelry shop robbery shocked traders after armed criminals looted nearly ₹2 crore worth of gold and silver along with cash from a jewelry store in Bihar. The Darbhanga jewelry shop robbery took place on Friday afternoon in the busy Katki Bazaar area, creating panic among shopkeepers and customers.
According to police, several armed criminals entered Prem Jewellers around 3 pm. They threatened the owner, staff, and customers at gunpoint and forced them to open the locker. The gang quickly collected gold and silver ornaments worth about ₹2 crore and also took ₹20–25 lakh in cash.
Witnesses said four criminals entered the shop while two others stood outside to watch the street. The robbers also snatched chains and jewelry from women customers present in the store. They completed the crime within minutes and locked people inside before escaping.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident and started checking CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Senior officers have formed teams to track down the criminals and recover the stolen jewelry.
