DC Kargil Flags Off Ladakh Taekwondo Teams for SGFI Championship as young athletes begin their journey toward national competition. DC Kargil Flags Off the Under-17 boys and girls teams with pride, sending them to represent Ladakh at the 69th SGFI Taekwondo Championship 2025 in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner and LAHDC Kargil CEO Rakesh Kumar personally encouraged the participants during the flag-off ceremony. He presented traditional Khataks to the students and reminded them to compete with confidence, discipline and sportsmanship.
The championship will take place at the Khelo India Indoor Stadium starting November 25, giving athletes a valuable platform to display their skills at a national level. Students from Jayanti Gada and other regions will join thousands of young competitors from across India.
Senior officials including ADC Kargil Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), DYSSO Kargil Abid Ali, Youth Services and Sports Department representatives and DC Office staff attended the ceremony, showing strong institutional support for school athletics.
Parents, coaches and officials hope this participation inspires more students in Ladakh to pursue sports professionally. The event also highlights the region’s growing investment in youth development, physical education and competitive sports culture.
