The DDU to Kiul–Jhajha rail line plan has won approval from the Union Cabinet led by Narendra Modi. The DDU to Kiul–Jhajha rail line plan will add new railway tracks and ease heavy traffic on this busy route.
The project will build third and fourth lines between Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and Patna. It will also extend new tracks toward Kiul and Jhajha. These lines will help trains run on time and reduce delays.
Railway officials will first build about 50 km of track between Punarakh and Kiul. The government has set aside around ₹2,200 crore for this phase. The full project covers nearly 400 km and may cost about ₹17,000 crore in stages.
The new lines will increase train capacity. They will also lower freight costs and improve services for passengers and businesses. Indian Railways expects smoother operations after completion.
