A serious case of negligence has emerged in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where a dead frog was allegedly found in the mid-day meal served at a government primary school in Gokulpur. A video of the incident circulated widely on social media, showing the frog inside a food container meant for students.
District Panchayat CEO Sojan Singh Rawat confirmed that an inquiry team was immediately constituted after receiving complaints. The team visited the school and began the investigation on priority. Rawat stated, “If negligence in the preparation or serving of the mid-day meal is proven, strict disciplinary action will be taken against those responsible.”
The incident has sparked anger among parents and the local community, as the mid-day meal scheme is directly linked to children’s nutrition and safety. Officials have assured that the probe will be conducted transparently and that no one responsible for the lapse will be spared.
