Two days after the Red Fort car blast killed eight people and injured many, Delhi Police expanded their search for another suspected vehicle. Officials said they are tracking a red Ford EcoSport linked to the same terror module. The search covers Delhi and nearby states.
Five special police teams are combing the city for the car. All police stations, border posts, and checkpoints have been alerted. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana Police are helping with the search. Investigators believe the attackers used the Hyundai i20, which exploded near Red Fort Metro Gate No.1, and another red car to plan the strike.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formed a 10-member team led by ADG Vijay Sakhare. Officers are scanning over 1,000 CCTV clips, checking mobile phone data, and tracking social media activity for leads. Security has been tightened in several cities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the injured at Lok Nayak Hospital after returning from Bhutan. He met patients and doctors and reviewed their condition. High alerts remain across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, especially around busy markets and temples.
