Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Disburses ₹694 Crore GST Refunds Ahead of Diwali
In a major relief for the trading community ahead of Diwali, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that ₹694 crore in GST refunds has been disbursed to traders. The move aims to boost liquidity and support business activity during the festive season.
Speaking on the development, the Chief Minister said the refunds reflect the government’s commitment to ease of doing business and timely compliance. She also highlighted that Delhi’s GST collections have shown a healthy 6.56% growth in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year.
Officials stated that the refund process has been streamlined to ensure faster disbursement, reducing bureaucratic delays and helping traders prepare for the festival rush. Business associations welcomed the decision, calling it a timely step to support economic activity and consumer demand during one of the busiest times of the year.
