Tension escalated across three major district court complexes in the national capital on Tuesday after simultaneous bomb threat emails were received at Patiala House Court, Saket Court and Tis Hazari Court. The alert emerged just hours before the scheduled hearing of Red Fort blast case accused Jasir Bilal Wani, who was to be produced before the Principal Sessions Judge at Patiala House. Authorities later confirmed that all three threats were hoax alerts, yet security protocols remained in place.
According to officials, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed around Patiala House Court due to the sensitivity of the case, while bomb disposal teams and dog squads conducted precautionary checks. Advocate Tarun Rana, Secretary of the New Delhi Bar Association, confirmed that although all three courts received identical threat emails, panic was quickly controlled and normal functioning resumed.
Saket Bar Association Secretary Advocate Anil Basoya stated that court operations were temporarily halted for nearly two hours as a preventive measure. Following security clearance, legal proceedings restarted in a phased manner.
The threat coincided with heightened attention on accused Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, who was arrested by Jammu & Kashmir Police last week. Wani is the second arrest made by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the November 10 Red Fort blast, which resulted in more than ten fatalities. His arrest is also linked to the Faridabad terror module.
Wani’s family reportedly resides near Dr. Adil and Dr. Muzaffar Rather — alleged members of the same extremist network. Adil was arrested earlier this month from Uttar Pradesh, while Muzaffar remains absconding. Adil has previously been implicated for past Jaish-e-Mohammad propaganda activity.
